After having breast cancer, I’m more careful about what I eat. I prefer to eat healthy foods without preservatives, artificial flavors, or hormones. It’s not always practical to make your own food from scratch. When it comes to hosting get-togethers I like to combine a mix of homemade foods and prepared foods to save both time and money. I’m always on the lookout for new, fun foods to serve at parties and gatherings. With Labor Day approaching, I’m starting to thing about and plan food options. Most holidays, we get together with family and friends. Now, we have quite a few family members in town. Just as I was starting to look for ideas, I was contacted my Chobani to try out one of their new products, Meze Dips.
Chobani, the brand known for Greek Yogurt, now has Meze Dips made with real vegetables, herbs, spices, and creamy Greek Yogurt. Bring a taste of the Mediterranean to your home or party with savory, yogurt-based dishes, for all occasions. Choose from 10oz containers of Roasted Red Pepper, Three Pepper Salsa, Chili Lime, or Smoked Onion Parmesan. The great thing about these dips is that they have 80% less fat and 65% less calories than the leading hummus.
I went over to my local H-E-B to pick out a Meze Dip. I had a hard time choosing. I wanted to try all of them! Ultimately, I choose the Smoked Onion Parmesan. I brought it over to my parents’ house one night for all of us to try together. We love the dip. It was a great alternative to other not as healthy dips and the taste was very creamy with a good amount of spices and flavor.
Have you made your Labor Day plans yet. If you are having a party or just a few friends over, check out this new dip. We served the Meze Dip with some raw veggies, but this would be great for a variety of dippers. You could provide some pita chips, bread, or crackers. This dip will please your Kosher, vegetarian, and gluten-free friends. For those healthier eaters, they will be happy to know Meze Dips have no artificial flavors, no preservatives, include live and active cultures, and are made with milk from cows not treated with hormones. It’s a win-win situation. You have an easy dip to serve as an appetizer and your company will be happy.
You can buy Chobani Meze Dip at various grocery stores including Target, Meijer, and Walmart. coupon
Here are some pictures and ideas of ways to serve your Meze Dip.
Cut up some raw vegetables or if you are short on time, buy some vegetables already sliced from your grocery store. Arrange them on a plate on in bowls with a variety of Meze Dips to taste. When I serve dips, I like to leave the dip in the container so my guests can see exactly what type of dip it is and read the ingredients if necessary.
You can also provide a gluten-free option with gluten-free chips or crackers. Be sure to label any gluten-free foods to make it easier on your guests.
Enjoy! Let me know what Meze Dips you try and which are your favorite.
