Juice Fasting and Juice Making – My 3 Day Juice Fast Journey
I’ve always been somewhat healthy, but ever since my breast cancer diagnosis in 2009, I’ve been working harder to live a healthy life. I still have lots of aches and pains most likely caused by the drugs and surgeries my body has been through over the past few years. I’ve tried eating/ not eating certain things and going gluten free for a while, but didn’t notice a difference. Next on my list was to try a juice fast detox diet. I mostly followed this 3-Day Juice Fast Detox Diet.
I did not completely stick to a juice only diet. I did have vegetable broth, veggies, or fruit if the hunger got too bad.
During the 3 days I did not notice a difference in how I felt regarding the aches and pains. I was more tired and went to bed earlier during those 3 days. I cut back on my exercise activity during that time period, so I’m not sure how I would have felt if I kept up with my running. I was worried I would pass out from lack of protein or other nutrients.
Going for 3 days without sugar and bread was hard, but it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.
The real difference I felt was after completing the juice cleanse. I slept well that first night. I even felt more energetic after drinking my green juice once I could have some food during the day too. My IBS symptoms didn’t seem as bad either. We’ll see how long this post juice-fasting high lasts. I might have to do it again every so often.
Have you ever done a juice cleanse? Which one did you do? What was your experience?
