As a cancer survivor myself, I’m happy to participate in this campaign to share information to help cancer patients. Extended Stay America and American Cancer Society are partnering to donate hotel room nights and teddy bears to pediatric cancer patients in need.
Extended Stay America and American Cancer Society – Room Donations and Hope Bears for Pediatric Cancer Patients
In order to help give hope to children battling cancer, Extended Stay America has donated over 85,000 free or deeply reduced hotel rooms to American Cancer Society®. Since many patients receive treatment away from home, this is a big help for those in need. This charity is part of the Give Hope Program.
I often have check ups at MD Anderson in Houston, which is 3 hours from home. I had a surgery in 2015 and wish I could have had a free hotel room. We had to spend two nights in a Houston hotel after my surgery. Of course, insurance does not cover that.
In addition to free and deeply discounted hotel rooms, Extended Stay America, through the support of their guests, is helping to bring smiles to pediatric cancer patients. With a $10 contribution from you, Extended Stay America will provide a Hope Bear to a child hospitalized with cancer. In fact, Extended Stay America is giving 5,000 Hope bears to children’s hospitals around the United States.
Purchase A Hope Bear
For $19.99 you can buy a Hope bear for yourself or a loved one. With each bear purchased, Extended Stay America will donate $5 to the American Cancer Society to go towards pediatric cancer research.
Here are the boys and me with our Hope bear.
