Have you heard about Freecycle? Basically, think “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
So, many of my clothes didn’t fit me anymore. Before getting breast cancer I wore about a size 6 or 8. After the surgery and chemo I lost some weight (about 15 lbs) and now wear a size 4 or smaller. Many of my nicer pants and skirts were seriously falling off. I didn’t want to buy new clothes for many reasons. One, I didn’t want to spend the money. Two, I don’t know how long I’ll stay at this size.
I posted “Wanted: Size 4 or Small Womens Clothes.” I let the Freecyclers know why I wanted the clothes and a little bit about me. I got a few responses and emailed back and forth with some women who may have some clothes for me that they no longer wear.
A few days later, one of the women left a large bag for me at her husband’s work for me to pick up. She gave me lots of brand named dresses, jeans, shorts, shirts. A few things don’t fit and I’ll just end up Freecycling those to someone else or donating them somewhere.
Don’t you just love the internet?
