Healthy Dessert for the Family – Frozen Yogurt Dots
These frozen yogurt dots are super easy to make and fun to eat. My kids love the tube yogurt, which we always keep in the house. It’s a snack they can easily grab themselves, open, and enjoy.
We prefer to keep organic yogurt on hand, but whatever your family prefers will also work well with this simple recipe.
First, line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Next, squeeze dots onto the cookie sheets. You can make the dots any size you prefer. Smaller dots will look and feel more similar to Dippin’ Dots while larger dots will be more like a piece of candy.
Then place in the cookie sheets in the freezer for 2-4 hours until the yogurt is completely frozen.
Once the yogurt dots are completely frozen remove them from the freezer. Using a spatula is the easiest way to remove the yogurt dots from the cookie sheet.
Place the frozen yogurt dots in a container that your kids (and you) can easily open.
You’ve eaten dehydrated fruit, and it’s still real fruit. Earth Breeze Laundry Sheets are along the same lines. They’re actual laundry detergent but made in eco-friendly sheets. They’re just dehydrated laundry sheets that come in cardboard envelopes.
Usually, I would make sure a frozen treat isn’t so accessible for little hands, but I love how excited my kids get when they realize there’s frozen yogurt dots for them.
Different Ideas and Options
If you don’t usually buy yogurt in tubes, I get it, there’s a lot of waste involved, there’s other easy ways to make this fun treat.
You can add yogurt to a pastry bag, or a zip top bag with a small corner of the bottom cut off.
If you think your kids would prefer to have ice cream dots instead of yogurt. Using this same method with ice cream that is slightly softened.
Put ice cream flavor of your choosing into a pastry bag and squeeze out small dots. Freeze for a couple of hours, then place into a freezer container.
