As you probably know, a kitchen can contain lots of germs and bacteria. Most kitchens get a lot of use from the members of the family as well as guests. Your kitchen could be harboring salmonella, E. coli, yeast, and mold. Keep your kitchen clean to prevent illnesses.

Speed Cleaning Your Kitchen
Remember this rule when cleaning…. Top to Bottom. Usually, it’s best to start at the top and work your way down. That way, the dirt does not go down to a surface you have already cleaned.
1. First, remove all items from your kitchen counters, give them a quick wipe-down, and place them somewhere out of the way.
2. Spray your counters, sink, and anything left out in the open. What spray you use depends on the surface of your countertops, sink, and appliances. I like to use vinegar or all-purpose sprays such as Force Of Nature.

3. While the spray sits on the surfaces wipe down the outside of your shelves or cabinets. I like to use Pledge products for wiping down wood surfaces.
4. Next, wipe down the inside of the appliances. If your microwave is disgusting, you can clean your microwave with vinegar in 5 minutes.
As parents of 3 little kids, Force of Nature is our go-to all purpose cleaner. It's nontoxic but is EPA approved for use against Covid-19.

5. Wipe down countertops, sink, and appliances with either paper towels or rags. Remember to wipe down the handles of the refrigerator and the sink faucet. If you used vinegar and baking soda, you’d need a damp sponge or rag to remove the paste.
6. Then, clean the floors. Sweep and then mop.
7. Finally, place items back on your countertops. During this step, try to throw away or find new homes for items that do not belong on the kitchen counter.

Tips for Keeping Your Kitchen Clean and Organized
Now that you have a clean kitchen, wouldn’t you like to keep it that way for a while? Here are some tips to keep your kitchen clean and organized.
First, I like to keep a daily countertop spray around to clean surfaces after each kitchen use.

We ran out of room on our old knife block, so we got one of the knife blocks without slots. My mom has the Kapoosh Hardwood Knife Block. I saw it at her house and went out and got the same one.
This knife block is great because it has a slot-free design and you can arrange the kitchen knives however you like. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn’t have the 2-row knife block, but I was able to find it at The Container Store.
Although we no longer have babies, I keep a bottle drying rack on the counter. We use this to air dry our water bottles, kids’ cups, travel mugs, basters, and more. The one we have is the Munchkin Deluxe Drying Rack. Since you can easily fold it to wash in the dishwasher, this one is my favorite.
Another product I love for organizing our house phone, cell phones, cell phone chargers, and papers is a telephone stand. We have a Rolodex phone organizing stand.
