Cancer Prevention Tips - Ways to Lower Your Cancer Risk

Cancer Prevention Tips – A Cancer Vaccine, Sun Exposure, Exercise

It is believed that the rates of cancer could be as high as 1 in 2. One in every two people that you know statistically could develop cancer at some point in their lifetime. That number is shocking, although it is worth being aware that not all cancers have a dire prognosis. Many are incredibly treatable such as testicular cancer with a survival rate well over 90 percent. But is there a way to prevent cancer altogether? In other words, can you limit your chances of getting cancer? Here are some of the possibilities to consider and the issues that could make you more vulnerable and likely to develop this terrible disease.  Then, use the following cancer prevention tips to help you and your loved ones.

One of the most common forms of cancer is skin cancer, but thankfully, it’s also one of the easiest ones to prevent. There are a few ways to avoid getting skin cancer or at least limiting your chances of contracting this disease. First, if you are heading out on holiday, do make sure that you avoid the midday sun. The sun is hottest at midday, and it’s when it’s the most dangerous. If you are out, stick to the shade and make sure you are wearing sunscreen. You will still tan, and you don’t need to lie in one area to do it.

To Lower Your Cancer Risk, Keep Fit With Intense Activity

Exercise, in general, is a great idea, but how much should you be doing every day to avoid increasing the chances of you getting cancer. Well, you should aim for about half an hour of regular exercise every day. While that might seem like a lot, it really isn’t, and you should easily be able to fit it into your daily routine. As well as this, you want to aim for over an hour of intensive exercise every week. Do this, and you will see fantastic benefits for your physical health.

Preventing Cancer by Avoiding Harmful Substances

There are various substances that increase your risk of developing cancer. Drugs, alcohol and smoking all increase your risk of developing several forms of the disease. Of course, if these substances are already a part of your life, it can be difficult to let them go. A treatment center can help to provide you the tools and support you need to get these poisons out of your life for good.

How to Prevent Cancer with a Cancer Vaccine

Finally, there are certain viruses that increase your chances of getting cancer. This includes Hep B which will increase your likelihood of developing liver cancer. You can contact your doctor about getting an immunization for this. It is particularly important for those who are not yet in a monogamous relationship. You may also want to get the Human Papillomavirus Vaccination. This is important to protect children from getting cancer that develops in the head and neck.
