How much is Amazon Prime for Students?

Students can get a 6-month free trial of Amazon Prime. When the free six-month trial ends, you’ll keep getting benefits at 50% off the regular rate.

For comparison, after a free 30-day trial, Prime costs $139 per year.

Free Amazon Prime Student Requirements

First, you must have an Amazon account to qualify for the free membership. Then, you must be enrolled in at least one class at a college or university in one of the 50 states, DC, or Puerto Rico. You must have a valid .edu email address.

Your college email address does not need to be connected to your Amazon account but will be used for verification.

You’ll have to fill out your college, year, and major information when you sign up.

Be prepared to show proof of enrollment if Amazon asks you for it. If you can’t provide proof, Amazon could ask you for reimbursement of your benefits.

Can you still get Amazon Prime free if you don’t have a .edu email address?

Yes! Even if you don’t have a .edu email address from a pre-approved campus, you can still get free Prime for students. Submit proof of your student status here or send one of the following documents to amazon-student-verification@amazon.com.

  • A transcript or course schedule for the current term that includes your name and school. Your official acceptance letter consists of the enrollment date.
  • Your student ID with the current year or expiration date.
  • Your tuition bill for the current semester with your name and school.

If Amazon approves your membership, they will email you within 3-5 business days with a link to enroll. Be sure to do this within 14 days of that email, or you’ll have to re-submit the application.
