It never even crossed my mind that the light bulb inside the dryer might one day stop working. I was shocked but not surprised when, one day, I opened the dryer, and there was no light.
I took that light for granted. I put off changing the bulb for a couple of months, even suggesting my husband do it and create a blog post. That never happened, so I took matters into my own hands. How hard could it be?
I was pleasantly surprised at just how simple the task was and kicked myself for putting it off for so long.

When I dispose of burnt-out light bulbs, I immediately throw them into the outside trash can to avoid tiny shards of glass in our daily bin. With little kids around, I never want to risk one of them getting hurt by reaching their hand into the trash.

Once you have twisted the new bulb into the socket, replace the plastic cover, and screw it back in. Righty-tighty this time.

What Type Of Light Bulb Goes In a Dryer?
Most dryers use a small appliance light bulb, typically 10 watts, with a screw-in base, also known as an E12 base. This kind of bulb is specifically designed to withstand high temperatures and humidity levels found inside a dryer.
When replacing a dryer bulb, it’s important to choose one that matches the manufacturer’s specifications for safety and performance.
Conclusion
While my washer and dryer aren’t on our home’s primary or bedroom level, I can see how much more handy a light would be. A working light makes reaching into the dryer more enjoyable, especially when doing laundry while your family sleeps.
