Six Flags Pricing

These prices are for Six Flags St. Louis. Six Flags pricing varies by locations. Check the Six Flags website for pricing for your trip and location.

Single Day Tickets

A single day admission starts at $29.99. The prices for one-day tickets vary by day. Daily parking is another $40 a day for general parking, and can be as much as $50 for premier parking. The distance difference isn’t terribly far. But if you prefer to park closer, be ready to spend a little extra money.

Six Flags Membership

Unlimited admission membership to Six Flags Theme Parks starts at $59.99 and includes free season parking. The parking with the least expensive membership is called speedy parking, and you’ll experience a much shorter line. So you can save money by being a season pass holder instead of paying for single day admission and parking.

You can upgrade to different tiers that include things like skipping the lines, preferred parking, unlimited soft drinks, and more.

The free season parking may be the best benefit of buying season passes.

AAA Six Flags Discounts 2024

Do AAA members get discounts at Six Flags Park?

Yes, there are several ways that AAA members can save money at Six Flags.  You can buy your tickets ahead of time online, at the gate, or at the AAA office. If you’re traveling and plan on spending more than 1 day at the park and using a local hotel, be sure to ask your hotel if they offer a AAA discount. It’s usually 10% off the cost of a standard room.

We are AAA members, and they really helped us out during our road trip emergency.  But, not only does AAA offer auto assistance, there are AAA discounts for attractions and entertainment too.

There are Go Cards for various cities that offer discounts on local attractions.  See if Six Flags is listed on the Go Card for the city it is located. Save up to 55% on Six Flags New England tickets with the Go Boston Card.  

Go Card San Francisco includes Six Flags Discovery Kingdom tickets.  San Diego Go Card has Six Flags Magic Mountain.

The San Antonio Go Card on Groupon includes Six Flags Fiesta Texas along with SeaWorld, Tours, iFly, San Antonio Zoo, kids activities, and museums.

Six Flags Discount Tickets at Costco and Sams Club

You can often get amusement park discount tickets at Sam’s Club. Check back frequently to see if they have added your local Six Flags.

In previous years, some Costcos sold discounted tickets for nearby Six Flags parks.  To find out if Costco has Six Flags tickets for the location that you want to visit, search “Six Flags” on the Costco website.

Six Flags Student Discounts

Several people have asked if Six Flags has student discounts. Yes, if you are a currently enrolled student, you can get Six Flags student discounts from the Six Flags page, according to Knoji Staff.

Six Flags Military Discounts

For members of the military, most bases have Six Flags military discount tickets at their MWR/ITR offices.  The discount is 20% off one-day general admission at the Guest Services Center. 

To get the discount Six Flags tickets, a military ID is required.

eBay has many listings for Six Flags coupons.  As with any eBay purchases, please carefully read user reviews and product descriptions before purchasing.

How to Get Free Six Flags Tickets

Season pass members, get discounted Six Flags tickets for friends throughout the year.  While in previous years six flags offered several bring a friend free dates, as of 2024 the lowest promotional price for bringing a friend is $19.99 on weekdays, and $29.99 on weekends.

According to a Reddit user, Six Flags stopped doing bring a friend free days. You have to enroll in the rewards program and collect points through purchasing items at your park, visiting, and so on. Bring a friend tickets start at $30, but there are special occasions where they go as low as $19.99.

They believe it’s 3000 points to redeem a bring a friend ticket.

Six Flags Read to Succeed Program Gives Free Tickets to Kids

The Read to Succeed program through Six Flags is for students grades k-6. 

When a student completes six hours of recreational reading, they can get a free Six Flags ticket.  This program is free to join for teachers and schools. If you’re school doesn’t currently participate, reach out to the administration to see if you can sign up.

Childrens Tickets

Children under 3 years old, do not need a ticket to enter six flags. However, they we be limited to which rides are available to them.

Most rides, including those in the Looney Toons Town require children to be a minimum of 36 inches.

For parents who want to spend the day at the park, but have children who aren’t able to ride more thrilling rides, you can utilize the parent swap option. This means 1 parent rides while the other waits in line with the child(ren) who are unable to ride. Then, the parents swap spots so the waiting parent can also experience the rides.

Groupon for Six Flags

Occasionally you may find discounted or sale tickets on groupon. But per one employee I spoke with at the ticket counter at Six Flags St. Louis, the best way to save on tickets is to buy a season pass. He also recommended I join facebook group for six flags junkies. This group tends to share park secrets, and might even offer some additional ways to save.

The cost of the pass is as low as $60, which can be less than the price of a ticket and parking. Even if you only plan to use the pass one time, it may be worth the cost to save a few dollars. This is especially true if you plan to visit Hurricane Harbor which can cost an additional $7-12 depending on which day you visit.

One bank card members also receive a discount. Check with your credit card or bank card to see if they offer a discount code, promo code, or coupon code.

From 2016: I just found this ad in the Austin Chronicle for a deal on a 4 pack of Six Flags Fiesta Tickets. It’s the IHOP Summer Fun Deal. Get 4 tickets to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and a $40 IHOP gift card for just $69.99.

That’s a savings of $262! The tickets are valid August 1 – September 11, 2016 and are available now at participating IHOP restaurants. What a great deal!

$7.11 admission on 7/11 at Six Flags.  First, buy something at 7-Eleven on July 11, 2016 and bring your receipt or get the official 7-eleven app.  Head over to Six Flags after 7:11pm and check in at the 7-Eleven table (outside the main gate).

SUMMER14 –  Get general admission at six Flags Discovery Kingdom for $29.99.  This deal expires August 2, 2014.

How to Save inside the park

Once you’ve forked over close to $100 for tickets and parking, unless you’re season pass holders. You will still need to be prepared to spend additional dollars on food and drinks, and of course a delicious waffle cone before leaving.

I don’t know if it’s permitted or not, but we’ve always brought prepacked snacks in our bags with us for the kids. We like to pack a few applesauce pouches, graham crackers, granola bars, and fruit snacks. Just a few little things that will hold the kids over between meals, and also keep them busy in line.

How to save on food

We like to either eat before entering, or pack food and head out to the car for a picnic lunch to take a mid-day break if we plan on spending more than 6 hours at the park.

Season pass holders have the option to purchase unlimited meal plans for $129 per person, per season. This includes 1 meal, 1 snack, and 1 beverage every 90 minutes. This could be a good deal if you share it between your family.

For instance 1 meal could be a 4 piece chicken strip basket and fries. For our family, this is easily enough for 2 people. A snack could be a full order of nachos, or a giant pretzel with cheese. So, you could rotate which family member eats when. Or, if you go multiple times per week, the investment per person could be worthwhile.

If you don’t visit the park enough to buy a yearly meal plan, consider 1 day meal plans for $42.99. This prices covers the above mentioned food plan ever 90 minutes.

You could also buy a 1 day meal plan of a meal, snack and beverage for $19.99 per person ($21.99 for non season pass holders.) Considering a 4 piece chicken strips and fries are $18.99 this is a great deal.

Six Flags policy does not allow for outside food to be brought it. That said, if you have snacks in your pockets or in your bag, it is unlikely that they will check. Bring in outside food at your own risk.

But from our experience they never check to see if you have food in your pockets or bags. Especially if you have your kids put snacks in their pockets.

Ways to Save on Drinks

As for beverages, some levels of season passes include a beverage cup that you can refill yourself for the season. If your season pass doesn’t include this, you may purchase this cup for $34.99. For single day cups you can pay $29.99 for unlimited refills.

I also recently noticed on the six flags app single day visitors can have unlimited drinks, using a disposable paper cup for $12 per person per day.

After visiting Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN it’s hard not to want free soft drinks to be included in the price of your admission.

Merchandise and more

Season Pass holders can also save 10% of food and snack purchases. And the app updates regularly with discounts and special BOGO offers on merchandise.

Make the most of your visit

If you only plan to spend 1 day at the park, get the most out of your visit by planning to spend the full day from open to close at the park.

Use the website or app to check out all of the rides available and map out the best route to ensure that everyone gets to experience their favorite rides.

If the park you’re visiting also offers a water park, plan to start your day there- this allows ample dry time for clothing and towels, but also most water areas close before the rest of the park.

Rides and Thrills

Visiting an amusement park on a week day is going to reduce your line wait time. If you can take the day off work, you’re going to experience much short to no wait time for some rides.

Have each person in your group pick their top 3-5 rides. You may find that some rides over lap. Make sure to hit each ride to guarantee everyone has fun. If some of your group doesn’t want to experience a specific ride, that’s a great chance for them to give another ride a go.

Make sure you wear your walking shoes. Most parks are over 2 acres, and you can expect to get in 9,000-15,000 steps over the course of the day.

Some Six Flags locations offer indoor shows and experiences. If you need to take a short break, this a great way to cool off, and give your feet a rest. While we haven’t stopped for any shows, we did give the steam engine train a ride, and it was a nice break, and can also help you avoid walking across the park.
