Challah French Toast With Leftover Homemade Challah

Leftover Challah = Wonderful Challah French Toast
Here’s a step-by-step recipe for Challah French Toast using leftover homemade challah:
Ingredients To Make Challah French Toast
- Leftover homemade challah bread (6 slices)
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Butter or oil for the pan
- Optional: Powdered sugar, maple syrup, and fresh fruits for serving
How To Make Challah French Toast
- Prepare the egg mixture: In a wide shallow bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Soak the challah slices: Take your leftover challah slices and dip each slice into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are well coated. Let the bread soak for about 15-20 seconds on each side.
- Heat the pan: While your bread is soaking, heat a flat pan over medium heat. Add a little butter or oil to prevent the toast from sticking.
- Cook the French toast: Once the pan is hot, add your soaked challah slices. Cook each side for 2-3 minutes or until they turn golden brown. Be sure to flip the bread slices only once to retain their fluffy texture.
