If you’re a parent or grandparent, you may have markers on your wall at some point.
I have learned that washable markers are the safest option. This trick works with both washable and non-washable but only on glossy and semi-gloss painted walls.
It’s not recommended to use this on flat-painted walls.
One of my adorable 4-year-olds decided to use a wall in the hallway as her art canvas. The result was a beautiful abstract piece.
Typically, I would use Force of Nature Cleaner, but in this instance, my multi-purpose cleaner was downstairs, so I grabbed my aerosol can of hairspray to clean the marker off the walls.
Before cleaning any large areas of the marker, test a small area of wall that is out of view.
Holding the can of hairspray 6-8 inches from the wall, cover the area that is colored with hair spray.
Once you sprayed the marker spot with hairspray, quickly wipe the area clean using a paper towel.
Once you have wiped the hair spray, you will be left with a clean wall and only memories of the special art left behind.
This trick also works well with general smudges and scuffs on walls.
As parents of 3 little kids, Force of Nature is our go-to all purpose cleaner. It's nontoxic but is EPA approved for use against Covid-19.
We love vinegar, but we use Force of Nature every day.
