If you’re like me, then you might not be going to high holiday services this year. Maybe you don’t belong to a synagogue or live far away from a temple. Either way, you can still celebrate the high holidays from the comfort of your own home. Did you know you can now get streaming services at home online? Thanks to the current technology, many temples and synagogues have free online Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services.
In years past, we have not been able to go to temple, so I searched for some free online services. A few years ago, my Temple in Dallas started offering streaming online high holiday services and I figured there were lots of other synagogues doing the same now. There are also some kid-friendly Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur online services. Here is a list of free live streaming Rosh Hashanah services and Yom Kippur Services you can watch at home as well as a few free online High Holiday prayer books for download.
The Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah 2020 starts the evening of September 18. The Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur 2020 begins the evening of September 27.

High Holiday Services at Home, Free Streaming Online (Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur)
- Our Jewish Community has free High Holiday services online that are streamed live and archived for viewing anytime. The online Rosh Hashanah streaming services and online Yom Kippur streaming services are from Congregation Beth Adam. They even have kids Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur high holiday services.
- Also, the Baltimore Hebrew Congregation will be streaming their services here.
- B’nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim in Deerfield, IL will have their High Holiday services streaming. Get the details here.
- Central Synagogue has a schedule of their live streaming services here. This includes High Holidays services you can watch at home online. You can also download their High Holy Days Prayer Books for free here.
- Congregation Beth Israel in Houston will also have Free Rosh Hashanah and Free Yom Kippur services online you can watch at home. Live and upcoming events here.
- In addition, Temple Shalom in Dallas has its streaming services here.
- Temple Emanu-El in Dallas has live video of select Shabbat services as well as other programming in high-resolution video available on your PC, Mac, iPhone or iPad. They will be streaming online Yom Kippur services and online Rosh Hashanah services. You can watch the high holiday services here.
