As a mom of small and curious children, sometimes you have to get creative and change things. That can also include adding a fun twist to a breakfast classic.

How to Make it
First, start with your favorite French toast dip. I use two large eggs, a splash of heavy whipping cream, a sprinkle of nutmeg, a cinnamon shake, and about a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
I like to use sweet brioche bread, but your favorite will work. I have an excellent recipe for Challah bread that would be lovely for making French toast waffles.
After adding all the above ingredients to a bowl large enough to dip my bread slices in, I mix it all with a fork until combined.
While I mixed, I plugged in my waffle iron and let it heat.
Next, I use a bit of melted butter with a nylon brush to coat the waffle iron. You can also use a nonstick cooking spray. I like the flavor butter adds to the French Toast.
The next step is to soak your bread in your dip mixture. I like to give each side 15 or so seconds to absorb the egg mixture.
Once both sides are coated, carefully place the bread into the hot waffle iron and close the lid.
Each slice of bread will take two to three minutes to cook. Most waffle irons have a light to indicate when cooking is complete.
Once the light on your waffle iron indicates it is cooked to completion, carefully open it and remove the French Toast Waffle with a fork.
You’ve eaten dehydrated fruit, and it’s still real fruit. Earth Breeze Laundry Sheets are along the same lines. They’re actual laundry detergent but made in eco-friendly sheets. They’re just dehydrated laundry sheets that come in cardboard envelopes.
I served the French Toast Waffles with fresh fruit and syrup. It would also go great with bacon or breakfast sausage.
In addition to this twist on two breakfast classics, I also have several easy breakfast casserole recipes you want to try.
